Description
We delivered a comprehensive suite of building services for the Concord development, a flagship project within the Tāmaki Regeneration programme. Our role involved a high level of technical coordination across mechanical, electrical, communications, security, hydraulic, fire engineering, and fire protection services. Utilizing a sophisticated Building Information Modelling (BIM) environment, we ensured seamless integration across the 19,172-square-metre site, which accommodates 84 new public and affordable homes. The mechanical HVAC design focused on providing energy-efficient ventilation and climate control tailored for a mix of modern apartments and terraced houses. Our electrical and communications team engineered a robust digital infrastructure to support the diverse needs of Glen Innes whānau, while integrated security systems ensure a safe and connected community. The hydraulic engineering component addressed complex water and wastewater requirements across the large-scale site, including frontage to Taniwha Street and Elstree Avenue. Fire safety was a paramount priority, with our specialists developing integrated fire engineering and protection strategies that exceed modern residential life-safety standards. By using BIM, we achieved superior interdisciplinary collaboration, significantly reducing design conflicts and streamlining the construction phase for our build partners.
Our designs were crafted to align with the Tāmaki Regeneration Company’s goals of delivering warm, dry, and sustainable housing at pace. We worked closely with mana whenua and community stakeholders to ensure the technical infrastructure supports the long-term aspirations of the local area. This project highlights our expertise in managing large-scale, high-density residential infrastructure within a complex urban regeneration framework.
