Description
We provided specialist mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, and fire protection engineering services for the award-winning Pacific Lakes Village development in Pāpāmoa. This project required a sophisticated approach to building services to support the village's ambitious goal of being the first retirement lifestyle community in New Zealand to achieve carboNZero certification. Our mechanical design focused on delivering high-efficiency HVAC solutions for the community pavilions, ensuring resident comfort while minimising energy demand. We implemented smart electrical infrastructure throughout the communal facilities to support the village's sustainable operational targets. Fire protection systems were meticulously designed to exceed safety standards while remaining unobtrusive within the high-end architectural finishes of the social hubs.
Our team worked to integrate these services within the unique "eco-village" framework, prioritising systems that reduce environmental impact. The electrical scope included advanced lighting controls and data connectivity to enhance the living experience for residents and staff alike. We ensured that all mechanical plant was selected for low noise and high durability, catering specifically to the needs of a premium residential environment. Our fire protection strategy involved a holistic approach to life safety, ensuring rapid detection and suppression across all community buildings. By coordinating these multi-disciplinary services, we helped deliver a resilient infrastructure that aligns with the project’s strong focus on nature and sustainability. This development showcases our ability to deliver technical excellence in a luxury residential context that prioritises both environmental stewardship and human wellbeing.
