Description

The redevelopment of the Orewa Surf Life Saving Club represents a vital investment in community safety and coastal resilience for one of Auckland’s busiest beaches. As the specialist building services engineers, we provided a comprehensive suite of mechanical, and hydraulic solutions tailored to the unique demands of a beachfront location. Our mechanical design focused on delivering high-efficiency ventilation and climate control systems that utilize corrosion-resistant materials to combat the aggressive marine atmosphere.

We engineered robust hydraulic systems to handle peak loads during major surf carnivals, including specialized sand-filtration drainage and high-capacity shower facilities for club members. We prioritized sustainable water management practices throughout the design, aligning with the club’s commitment to protecting the local environment. Given the building’s role as a first-response hub, all services were designed with high durability and ease of maintenance in mind to ensure long-term operational reliability. Our team worked closely with the club to ensure the new infrastructure supports diverse functions, from intensive lifeguard training to large-scale community events.

The facility provides a state-of-the-art home for the club’s growing membership and essential equipment. This project demonstrates our ability to deliver technical excellence in challenging environmental conditions where reliability is non-negotiable. By providing invisible yet essential engineering, we have helped secure the future of life-saving services on the Hibiscus Coast. This landmark building now stands as a testament to the intersection of modern engineering and community service.
