Description
The Naumi Hotel Wellington redevelopment is a masterclass in the adaptive reuse of heritage assets, requiring a meticulous multidisciplinary engineering approach to support its vibrant, luxury-focused interiors. Leveraging a comprehensive BIM-led design process, we coordinated a high-efficiency Mechanical HVAC solution using a centralized VRF system, ensuring individualized thermal comfort for each of the bespoke suites while meeting stringent acoustic requirements. Our Electrical and Communications & Security teams integrated a future-proofed digital infrastructure, featuring smart access control and high-speed connectivity that operates invisibly behind the hotel’s bold aesthetic. The Hydraulics scope involved a total infrastructure overhaul to manage high-demand peak loads across luxury rain-showers and commercial back-of-house operations, all while navigating the rigid floor-plate limitations of a legacy structure.
By utilizing 3D coordination, we successfully routed complex service runs through tight ceiling voids, preventing conflicts with the hotel's intricate architectural features. This high-density technical integration ensures the hotel functions with 24/7 reliability, from energy-efficient lighting controls to life-safety systems. By balancing technical rigor with the creative vision of Naumi Hotels, we helped deliver a facility that is as operationally resilient as it is aesthetically striking.
