Description
We provided a full suite of building services for the landmark Gate Pā Community Centre, supporting Tauranga City Council in delivering a high-quality facility for its growing population. Our role encompassed mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and fire protection engineering, as well as specialised fire safety design. The mechanical scope focused on providing high-efficiency ventilation and climate control for the multi-purpose spaces, ensuring optimal comfort during community gatherings. Our electrical design integrated modern lighting and data infrastructure to support the facility's role as a digital and social hub. We engineered robust hydraulic systems to serve the community kitchen and amenities with a focus on long-term water efficiency. Fire safety was a paramount consideration, where we developed comprehensive fire protection and life safety strategies tailored to the building’s unique architectural form.
Our multi-disciplinary approach ensured that all services were seamlessly coordinated, preventing clashes and optimising the building's usable footprint. We worked closely with council stakeholders to ensure all designs met the stringent local building standards and sustainability goals. The project highlights our ability to deliver essential infrastructure that serves as a cornerstone for community connection and wellbeing. By providing resilient and future-proofed engineering solutions, we have helped create a safe and welcoming environment for the residents of Gate Pā. This project stands as a testament to our commitment to delivering integrated engineering excellence for public sector clients.
