Waiteata Apartments are a self-catered student accommodation facility operated by Victoria University of Wellington, located close to the Kelburn campus and overlooking central Wellington. The complex comprises three separate apartment buildings that provide accommodation primarily for returning students. The apartments are designed to support independent living within a shared residential environment.
The accommodation includes a total of 54 single bedrooms arranged within four- and five-bedroom apartments. Each apartment contains shared kitchen, dining, and living spaces, along with bathroom facilities. Bedrooms are fully furnished, and the apartments are intended to support longer-term student occupancy rather than short-stay accommodation.
From a building services perspective, the apartments incorporate core services necessary to support residential use, including heating to all apartments and provision for cooking, washing, and day-to-day living. Shared laundry facilities are provided, and kitchens within each apartment are equipped for self-catering, reflecting the independent living model of the accommodation.
The buildings also include security and operational services to support student wellbeing, including swipe-card access and 24-hour camera surveillance.
